Qatar Premiere of Gershwin's An American in Paris
Conductor Marcus Bosch (two-time Opus Klassik winner), leads the Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra in a programme of storytelling. The evening opens with Stravinsky's The Firebird Suite, a shimmering fairy-tale score full of magic and menace. After the interval, Bosch turns to Gershwin with the effervescent An American in Paris, receiving its Qatar premiere, followed by Catfish Row, the symphonic suite drawn from “Porgy and Bess”.
